Many resorts - not just in the U.S., but also around the globe - use their locations as enticing attributes. Whether it's the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean or one of the thousands upon thousands of lakes in America, about half of the timeshares in the country are near a beach. About half of those are actually on a beach. Similarly, 10% of American timeshares are on golf courses and another 10% are at ski resorts.

American timeshares are some of the most popular with around 27% of the world's timeshares located in the U.S. Furthermore, timeshare sales in the U.S. have been rising about a billion dollars every year for the past five years.

Most timeshares in the U.S. are deeded, not Right To Use. The only state that does have a substantial amount of Right To Use properties is Hawaii.

About half of the states in America are Attorney States meaning that a lawyer is needed to assist in the closing of timeshare resales. You are not responsible for hiring a lawyer nor will you really have any contact with the lawyer. The only way this impacts the buyer or seller, is that the lawyer fees cause Attorney States to be more expensive. Furthermore, this only applies to the state where the resort is located, not the state where the buyer or seller is located.

Some of the world's most coveted timeshare resorts are located in the United States. Top destinations include Myrtle Beach, Florida especially Orlando, Colorado, the Big Island of Hawaii as well as Maui, Las Vegas, Hilton Head, Branson and California.

There are top resorts outside of these top destinations as well. Some of the United States' prime resorts that are not included in those areas are Manhattan Club in New York; World Mark Eagle Crest in Bend, Oregon; Westin Kierland Villas in Scottsdale, Arizona; Williamsburg Plantation in Williamsburg, Virginia; and Hyatt High Sierra in Incline Village, Nevada.
