Hilton Grand Vacations Helps Hawaii

After the recent eruption of Kilauea volcano, Hawaii has been working to help those affected. Hilton Grand Vacations came in to raise $25,000 to the Hawaii Island Volcano Recovery Fund at the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF) assist with the volcano relief fund.

To date, this fund has raised more than $750,000 to help those affected by the eruption.

This money that Hilton Grand Vacations donated works to support the organization is helping with:

• Response for the most urgent needs of those communities heavily affected
• Providing recovery and support so families and communities can feel some level of normalcy with temporary housing
• Long term rebuilding efforts to get communities back on their feet

Mark Wang, president and CEO, Hilton Grand Vacations, spoke on the importance of helping those in need after a natural disaster:

“Hilton Grand Vacations has significant operations on both Hawai‘i Island and O‘ahu where our Team Members live and work and our owners and guests vacation. We care deeply about our communities and are pleased to support the tremendous efforts of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation to help with disaster relief and recovery.”

The Kilauea volcano is located on the base of the Big Island of Hawaii. The recent volcanic activity spread lava and toxic fumes throughout the region, which forced over 10,000 residents to evacuate the area. This was followed by a series of earthquakes that broke up roads and highways.

Diane Chadwick, HCF’s director of community philanthropy on the Island of Hawaii, spoke on her gratitude to Hilton Grand Vacations for their charitable donation:

“We are grateful for the many individuals and companies, including Hilton Grand Vacations, that have stepped up to care for these communities while they recover. Contributions like these support efforts that provide housing, case management, legal and other essential services for those impacted by the Kīlauea Volcano eruption.”
