Marriott Vacation Club Points Reservations

As a Marriott Vacation Club Destinations points owner, you have several options when making your reservations. If you purchase Marriott Vacation Club resale points, you have the option of reserving accommodations within four collections of luxurious Marriott resorts and affiliates.

Marriott Timeshare Weeks Reservations

As a Marriott Vacation Club week owner, you can choose from the following reservation options:

  • Reserve a vacation at your Home Resort during your owned season or fixed week.

  • Request an External Exchange.

  • Request an Internal Exchange.*

*Only members of the Florida Club are eligible for internal exchange

Reserving Marriott Timeshare Weeks at Your Home Resort

As a Marriott timeshare weeks owner, your reservation window depends on how many weeks you own.

  • Single-Week Owners—If you own a single Marriott Vacation Club week and plan to stay at your home resort during the season in which you own, you may reserve your vacation up to 12 months prior to the check-in date of your desired vacation week.

  • Multiple-Week Owners—If you are an owner of two or more Marriott Vacation Club weeks and would like to reserve either two villas in one week (concurrent weeks) or two weeks back-to-back (consecutive weeks), you may have the option of requesting reservations up to 13 months prior to the check-in date of your desired week.

Making Your Points Reservations

Making Marriott Vacation Club reservations with your Destinations points is simple and allows you many options. Our timeshare experts will walk you through the whole process, but here are the basic steps involved:

  • Choose the length of vacation that's right for you.

  • Decide what size of accommodations you will need.

  • Select a destination.

  • Determine when you'd like to go.

  • Call Marriott's resort services to make your reservation.

Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Reservation Windows

Your reservation window and your minimum stay requirements are dependent upon both your ownership level and the length of your desired vacation. There are three levels of ownership within the Marriott Vacation Club Destinations program:

  • Standard Owners—Destinations points owners who own fewer than 6,500 points may request to reserve a minimum of a 7-night stay at any resort within the Exchange Program up to 12 months prior to the desired check-in date. At 10 months prior to check-in, there is no minimum stay requirement.

  • Premier Owners—Those who own between 6,500 and 12,999 Destinations points may request to reserve a minimum of a 7-night stay at any resort within the Exchange Program up to 13 months prior to the desired check-in date. At 10 months prior to check-in, there is no minimum stay requirement.

  • Premier Plus Owners—Destinations points owners who own at least 13,000 points may request to reserve any resort within the Exchange Program up to 13 months prior to the desired check-in date, with no minimum stay requirements.

Marriott Florida Club Reservations

The unique Marriott Florida Club has its own reservation process. Owners in this group also have the added benefit of being able to reserve a vacation week at either their home resort or at another resort within the Florida Club resort network—without having to request an exchange.

As an owner at a Florida Club resort, you are able to make reservations during your home resort reservation window at any of the resorts within the Florida Club for a vacation during the season you purchased. The Florida Club resorts include:

Marriott Florida Club owners may make reservations up to six months prior to their requested check-in date. If you are reserving consecutive (back-to-back) weeks or concurrent (two villas during the same time frame) weeks, you may reserve your vacation up to seven months in advance of your requested check-in date.

Marriott Exchange Options

Marriott conducts its external exchanges through Interval International, one of the leading third-party exchange companies. Both weeks and points owners have the option to purchase an Interval International membership in order to trade their Marriott timeshares for new vacation opportunities.

Marriott Weeks Exchanges

As a Marriott timeshare week owner, you can choose to trade your week at your home resort for another week at a non-Marriott resort.



Because of its partnership with the Marriott Vacation Club, Interval International will hold weeks deposited by Marriott timeshare week owners for a set amount of time to provide internal exchange availability to Marriott owners before making them available to non-Marriott owners. Marriott Vacation Club week owners will receive first priority to Marriott weeks with comparable demand levels. Interval International gives highest priority to Marriott week owners who choose to request an exchange back to their home resort.

Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Exchanges

Marriott Vacation Club Destinations points owners may request a reservation for a resort within the World Traveler Collection through an external exchange process. You will be responsible for external exchange fees, which are due at the time the exchange is confirmed through Interval International. The amount of your external exchange fee depends upon the country in which your desired resort is located.



You can rest assured knowing that if for any reason Interval International is unable to confirm your reservation, your Destinations points will be returned to your account and the external exchange fee will be refunded to you.

How to Request an Exchange

Marriott weeks owners enjoy two, easy exchange process options:



Deposit First



Choose this exchange method if you'd like to vacation outside of your owned season or fixed week, or somewhere other than your home resort. Deposit First exchanges can be initiated between 12 months and 60 days prior to your home resort reservation check-in date.




  1. Reserve your week at your home resort.
  2. Deposit your reserved week with Interval International to be available to other Marriott Vacation Club owners looking for an exchange.
  3. Submit an exchange request to Interval International via phone or the company's website.
  4. Confirm your exchange up to 24 months after your original home resort reservation check-in date.


Request First



Use the Request First option when you're not sure you want to vacation somewhere other than your home resort. This process keeps your owned week available to you until you're able to confirm an acceptable change. Request First exchanges can be initiated up between 12 months and 60 days prior to your home resort reservation check-in date.




  1. Reserve your week at your home resort.
  2. Submit an exchange request to Interval International via phone or on the company's website.

How to Exchange your Marriott Points

Reservations within the World Traveler Collection are made utilizing the Request First method through Interval International. Exchange requests must be received by Interval International at least 60 days in advance of your desired check-in date. When you submit your request, your points are reserved in your account and cannot be used for any other reservations unless you cancel your exchange request. Once your exchange request is confirmed, the points are then removed from your account.



If you wish to make a reservation for a date that falls within 60 days of your desired check-in date, you can still call Interval International's reservation desk to use the company's Flexchange option. If the reservation you are requesting is available, it will be instantly confirmed.
