(OWNER COMMENTS): Visit www.rranch.org. The Ranch Owners Association (ROA) of R-Ranch in the Sequoias invite you to a Virtual Open House tour of this unique vacation and four seasons resort community. Owners share approximately 750 acres of mountains, forest and ranchland, horses and stables, comfortable cabins, RV park and tent spaces, archery, trail riding, a lake and two streams, hiking, swimming pool, jacuzzis, dancing, tennis and basketball counts, and numerous family social events. Located about 175 miles northeast of Los Angeles or 130 miles southeast of Fresno, the Ranch enhances the lifestyle of approximately 2,000 fortunate owners.
This is not a timeshare. At R-Ranch no one person or family owns an individual lot. By subdividing ownership rather than land, owners enjoy the entire ranch whenever they wish and as often as they wish, without the constraints of timesharing. There are 2,500 shares, with undivided interest, buyers receive a grant deed at close of escrow.
RESORT DESCRIPTION: The lakeside is the frequent site of evening campfires, sing alongs and wienie roasts. The lake is surrounded by a levee road which is a great place for a morning jog or an easy evening stroll. Fishing is a popular activity. Paddle boats and non-motorized small craft are frequently on the lake. Even more common are the water fowl which call the lake home.
UNIT AMENITIES: Cabins are generally furnished to a comfortable rustic style. A few are maintained in a basic manner to suit all tastes.
All cabins have beds and mattresses, electricity, heat, hot water, modern plumbing, small refrigerators, stoves, dinning table and chairs.
Each cabin also has its own picnic table and barbecue area and basic housekeeping supplies. Many cabins can accommodate an RV beside the cabin.
Few cabins are so spartan, however, as owners have added curtains, comfortable furniture, kitchen appliances, dishes, pots and pans, etc. Most cabins have been decorated, mainly through the volunteer efforts of the ADOPT-A-CABIN volunteers.
Since the cabins were once the homes of lumber company employees, they are each unique, though most still retain the knotty pine wood paneling throughout. Cabin sizes vary from about 400 sq. ft., once used for batchelor living, to 4 and 5 bedrooms depending upon the family needs of company employees. The cabins are available to owners depending on the size of the party reservation. Owners may make specific requests for cabins pending availability and size of party.
Most cabins have journals where a tradition has developed to leave a message for the next family, recording Ranch experiences, advice, humor, creative writing, nature observation tallies and even gossip, much as might have been shared over the backyard clotheslines or morning coffee break.
