What is the ARDA (American Resort Development Association)?

ARDA is the American Resort Development Association. Headquartered in Washington D.C., ARDA was established in 1969 to represent the vacation-ownership and resort-development industries. Today it has more than 1,000 corporate members ranging from privately held firms to publicly traded companies.

ARDA seeks to promote the growth and development of the timeshare industry through a number of programs based primarily on education and outreach. ARDA is committed ensuring the highest quality of standards and ethics in vacation property ownership community development, as evidenced by its Code of Standards & Ethics, with which all members must comply. According to ARDA'S mission statement, "it is the [goal] of the American Resort Development Association to foster and promote the growth of the industry and to serve its members through: legislative and regulatory advocacy, public relations and communications, education, membership development, and ethics enforcement."
