"Whistler has many summer and fall sports activities also.  They have BMX and mountain biking trails all over the mountains, and competition sporting events throughout the summer and fall  The have a wonderful sports arena with a large indoor pool with water slides and a hockey/ice skating rink.  A highlight for October is Halloween.  One large subdivision is blocked off to autos and all the residents decorate their houses for trick or treating.  Everyone in town gives candy to the fire stations and they divide it up to the houses in the subdivision.  After trick or treating, the firemen have a fireworks display at a nearby school.  Halloween is the only time all year that British Canadians can have fireworks.  Our kids didn't like that our week in Whistler was Halloween, but after we found this event, they were OK being there."
