You need a boat to get there or take the Kineo shuttle from the Rockwook public landing and pier. In the spring, the anglers have the best Salmon and trout fishing right at the estate. The estate has it's own dock for you boaters. Sorry for you sailboaters, you will have to use our slips 1.2 miles from the estate. In the fall we get many leaf peepers and riding the chair lift in the fall is absolutely the most beautiful sight you will ever remember. Summer is of course summer on a very large lake, not crowded and sooo peaceful. The biggest problem with Moosehead area is being all by yourself most of the time. You might get lost and nobody to ask for directions. Imagine a vacaton like Lewis and Clark must have experienced. Fall brings in many sportsmen for Foul, Partridge, Deer, Moose and Bear hunting. Maine has many guides and outfitters, just ask in advance. Moosehead Lake hosts the largest sea plane event in the world every September. An event you will never forget if you are a flier!
