"This is the hottest vacation week in winter, with many companies shut down after Christmas. The first use is week 52 of 2009; dates are Dec. 26, 2009 to Jan. 2, 2010. If you cannot come every year, you can trade it or rent it out every year for around $1500. (We rented out in 2008.) San Diego has a 90%-plus hotel occupancy rate and hotel rate is high. Carlsbad Inn has superior renting ability; many of the postings had rented. I never have any problem renting it out or trading it. San Diego also has a very mild winter, averaging 60 degrees. It is a great place to get away from the cold winter. It's only 30 minutes from San Diego, 1 hour from Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm, and 90 minutes from Los Angeles and Universal Studio. The resort is family-friendly, and just steps to the beach with free chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and sand toys in the garden. You can walk the town and boardwalk. There are many 4- to 5-star restaurants on the grounds and nearby.

"Carlsbad Inn is located in a quaint walking town with great restaurants, shopping, antique stores, train station, and more. It is only 20 to 40 minutes from Legoland and close to the Zoo, Del Mar Race Track, SeaWorld, and Wild Animal Park.
