Steve Luba - The point system, where you can accumulate points for a given timeshare or vacation ownership - how does that system work?
Jason Tremblay - The points at first blush are confusing. Every resort brand that has a points program runs their points program differently. One hundred points with one resort brand may be worth far more than a hundred thousand points with another. Generally what points are is essentially currency that you can use for exchanges within a resort brand. If you own, for example, a Westin timeshare, or a Bluegreen timeshare and you're offered a certain number of points at that home resort that you purchased. Those points you can use the following year towards a trade for a week at another timeshare property within that same resort brand. So, again, as we talked about earlier, if you are looking to exchange often, if you are looking to travel to many different destinations in the years to come it's important to secure enough points on the initial purchase to satisfy those travel needs.
