From the natural beauty of the seaside atmosphere to the celebration of ocean culture, Cape Cod has been one of the hottest summer destinations for tourists for decades. The location hosts thousands of activities around it’s wonderful landscape to keep families outside and active. There’s so many sites to see and shopping to be had, you could come back year after year and there will always be new things to explore, try out, eat, drink, you name it!

Massachusetts has some wonderful areas where we have timeshares for sale and for rent. But when you’re thinking about your ideal summer vacation in the Northeast, there’s no better place to look than Cape Cod. We’ve put together this Cape Cod travel guide that covers all there is to do from end to end, Barnstable to Provincetown, to ensure you have a vacation that is as affordable as it will be awesome.

Things to Do in Cape Cod

Unless you’re travelling from a tropical island somewhere, you’re probably coming to the Cape for some well-deserved beach time. We could write a multiple-page Cape Cod travel guide on beaches alone! For some quick recommendations, try out North Beach, Race Point, Nauset Beach, and Sandy Neck Beach

With all the great beaches around the area, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get out and get active. Travellers can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, jet-skiing, wind surfing, and more! Perfect for a lively vacation. The timeshares in our inventory are also close to some great shopping centers and breweries such as Bad Martha’s Brewery and Cape Cod Brewery!

But we all need those breaks away from the sun, even if it’s only for a couple of hours. There are a couple of options to choose from. Here are some things to do in Cape Cod:

Best Restaurants in Cape Cod

You can’t leave New England without having some of the region’s delicious seafood. You just can’t. Luckily, there are plenty of places around to grab a dish of fish and shellfish—fried, grilled, pan-seared, you name it!

Allergic to seafood? No problem! There are plenty of places to grab a juicy steak or some uniquely-prepared chicken. The possibilities are endless! No matter your taste, you won’t be disappointed, but here are some suggestions made by our staff to at least get you started:

  • Captain Linnell House
  • Jimmy’s HideAway
  • Keltic Kitchen
  • Sea Street Cafe
  • The Mews Restaurant & Cafe
  • The Lookout Tavern

Cape Cod Vacation Tips

It doesn’t matter if you’re a worrier or if you like going with the flow; even a little preparation can go a long way. Outlining your vacation will give you a vague sense of purpose; that way you’ll be able to coordinate travel plans. You’ll be giving yourself more time to hit the various towns, beaches, and amusements around the area.

Travelling By Air

Unless you’re flying to smaller municipal Barnstable, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Provincetown, your best bet for airplane travel would be landing in Boston’s Logan International Airport or Providence’s T.F. Green International Airport. Both cities are a little less than an hour and a half drive away. But regardless of whether you rent a car from the airport or you decide to take a road trip, rest assured that the Cape’s beautiful scenery is essentially unavoidable in your travels!

Travelling By Sea

Of course, you could always take a ferry from Boston down to the Cape. There are multiple ferry cruises to bring you down the Massachusetts shore, soaking up all the great sites of the New England state which will take your breath away at any time of the year.

Don’t Forget The Essentials!

Regardless of what season it is, the cape can get pretty chilly. Make sure to bring a light jacket or some sweatshirts for the cool periods of the day. Bring some active wear as well; the Cape is a great place to go for bike rides, runs, walks, and all other sorts of outdoor activity!

Where to Stay

The biggest Cape Cod vacation tip we can provide for you is that you must be smart about where you stay during your vacation. A Cape Cod timeshare resale or rental could save you thousands of dollars compared to a hotel room, which features constantly fluctuating prices and aren’t always guaranteed availability. With a Cape Cod timeshare, you’ll have a place to return to annually for a great vacation, whether you’re out with your family for summer break or you’d like a romantic rendezvous in a quaint beach town.

So where on the Cape would you like to retreat to? Here are a list of some of the most popular Cape Cod getaway locations:
