Company gives back to women who have undergone cancer treatment with luxury resort vacations.
Dover, NH (October 23, 2012) -- SellMyTimeshareNow and VacationOwnership.com have recently announced their participation as a sponsor for the Send Me On Vacation second annual event, hosted by the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico between October 27 and November 3.
Send Me On Vacation is a 501(c)(3) program managed by Corporate Citizenship Charities. The charity provides a complimentary week long vacation for women with breast cancer who have completed their treatments and need a place to rejuvenate and heal their body, mind and spirit. Various donor companies within the timeshare industry provide vacation accommodations. Since the charity was first launched in 2010, 18 cancer survivors have enjoyed vacations at timeshare resorts around the world.
According to Cathy Backus, VP of Business Development for ICE Gallery, who founded the non-profit charity, "After their treatments are completed, we believe the first step in surviving the overwhelming exhaustions is to provide these survivors with relief and comfort of a well-deserved vacation to celebrate life. The leading timeshare resale brokerage and Internet advertising company is one of the sponsors of the golf tournament held in conjunction with the week-long event. The Grand Mayan Riviera Maya is also offering deeply discounted accommodations, golf, a celebratory dinner and "tequila tasting" for guests.

Bette Publicker is a cancer survivor who enjoyed a timeshare holiday through Send Me On Vacation. In May 2010 she found a large lump in her right breast and immediately went for a mammogram. The tests showed three large growths. After further testing positive for the Braca gene, it was strongly suggested that she have a double mastectomy and reconstruction, which she did. In the nearly two years that followed, she had six surgeries, chemotherapy, lymphodemia, hair loss, weight gain and pain. The end result is that she has recently emerged, Cancer Free!
In sharing her story Bette adds, "Throughout my journey I have made many new friends from breast cancer support groups and I continue to support others who have been affected by this disease. My compassion has grown, and I am constantly trying to give back to others. Yes, breast cancer can be curable but it always leaves us changed!
