Mall and Theme Park Complex is to Be Built Next to Cancun Moon Palace Resort

Cancun, Mexico will soon be adding a new attraction to its endless list of vacationing fun with a mega theme park and mall. Beloved all-inclusive vacationing brand, the Palace Resorts, is the group behind what has been informally named the “Malltertainment” project and will build out this massive complex next to its highly sought-after Cancun Moon Palace Resort property.

More On the Malltertainment Complex

This build will be designed for visitors of all ages and will be the perfect place for families and friends to spend some of their travels in one of Mexico’s most popular vacation cities.

Some of its most notable features will include:

• An amusement park
• A go-kart track
• An ice skating rink
• A hot air balloon attraction
• A 7,500-seat auditorium

Additionally, the complex will have many on-site dining opportunities, shops, and other must-have vacation amenities for an all-encompassing experience.

The plans for this development also include an over 850,000-square-foot water area within the theme park, but there has yet to be confirmation on if it will be a water park or another water-based attraction.

The complex will cost around $5 million USD, be almost 2.7 million-square-feet in size, and bring as many as 5,000 new jobs to Cancun. An anticipated opening date has yet to be announced.
