What to Look Forward to at Disney 2024

Disney Vacation Club members and Disney enthusiasts alike, it’s time to start planning your Disney 2024 trip! It’s never too early to start building your magical itinerary and planning your adventure. Every year, there are new things being unveiled at the Disney parks and new benefits to be explored. While you begin to set up your Disney vacation 2024, here are just a few things you can look forward to!

No More Park Passes

The pandemic really shook things up in regards to visiting the Disney parks. When they re-opened after the pandemic, it was necessary to have a reservation for a specific date to visit any park. This put guests in a gridlock and limited the ability to park hop and be more spontaneous during their trips. It also made you plan very far in advance to ensure you could visit the parks you wanted to. This was very unpopular among regular Disney guests, but it helped to control overcrowding in the post-pandemic period.

But luckily, starting January 9, 2024, Park Pass reservations will no longer be required. This will make buying tickets and planning your Disney vacation 2024 much more relaxed and easy to accomplish.

The Dining Plans Are Back

A few years ago, Disney suspended the dining plans that allowed you to prepay for your meals during your vacation. Luckily, these plans are returning in 2024! You will have two options: the Disney Dining Plan and the Quick Service Dining Plan. These plans can only be added to a vacation package for those staying at official Disney Resorts and Disney park tickets.

The Disney Dining Plan includes:

  • 1 Quick-Service Meal Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Table-Service Meal Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Resort-Refillable Mug

This plan is ideal for those looking to enjoy more sit-down meals and buffets alongside quick meal items at the parks.

The Quick Service Dining Plan includes:

  • 2 Quick-Service Meals Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay
  • 1 Resort-Refillable Mug

This meal plan is great for those looking to eat on the go, making more time for fun at the parks.

Other notable aspects of the meal plans include:

  • Beverages are included with every meal, guests over 21 can substitute for an alcoholic beverage
  • Guests ages 3-9 must order from the children’s menu where available
  • Meals are non-transferable between party members
  • Plan must be purchased for the full length of stay and for the entire party (ages 3 and up)
  • It is highly recommended to make reservations at table-service restaurants
  • Meals expire at midnight on the day of check out

EPCOT’s Remodel Will Be Complete

Epcot has been going through many changes throughout the years, and the renovation will finally be completed in 2024! The most exciting new aspect to the park is called Journey of Water. This interactive experience is inspired by the hit Disney film, Moana.

This attraction is for all ages and will take you on an exploration of water as it travels from the sky to oceans and back again. There are both wet and dry paths for those who don’t want to get wet while experiencing this attraction. Through this, you will learn themes specific to the Moana movie like the life cycle of water and how we can protect our bodies of water.

Journey of Water is located within World Nature, the area in Epcot dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty in our world.
