Gruene dance hall, live music everyday. Open air with picnic tables outside seating. Grist Mill restaurant, Gruene, old 1878 cotton gin, amazing atmosphere with big porch. Try the strawberry shortcake. BBQ. Driftwood, several places, Salt Lick is a favorite, watch them cook from picnic tables. Sister Creek Vineyards, Crawfish/shrimp boils-- there are several in the area. A really fun experience eating off paper tablecloth family style. Austin, 6th street experience.
