Plan Your 2021 Disney Trip Around These 8 Potential Attraction Openings

Even with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the way trips look at Disney parks in 2020, the team at Disney has been working tirelessly to complete the construction of multiple attractions at the Orlando parks. From rides to dining experiences to themed accommodations, there are 8 new items with scheduled or anticipated openings coming to Disney World within the next year.

Rides and Shows

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: Coming to Epcot as a part of the new expanded France pavilion and the first moving attraction of Epcot’s World Showcase, guests will be “shrunk” down to the size of their favorite Chef rat and explore Gusteau’s kitchen. It is anticipated to open sometime in 2021, with rumors it could be as early as the first half of the year.

Epcot’s Harmonious:: As one of the property’s largest nighttime shows ever, Harmonious will feature six-story floating platforms, pyrotechnics, colorful lights and lasers, a 25-foot LED wall, fun music, and so much more. The debut of this project is dependent on the COVID-19 pandemic’s severity during the upcoming months.

Restaurants

La Crêperie de Paris: Along with the new Ratatouille ride, Epcot’s expanded France pavilion will also offer a new dining experience with both table and quick-service options. The restaurant is expected to start serving guests in November 2021.

Space 220: Located near Mission Space in Epcot, guests are going to love this out-of-this-world dining experience which will feature American cuisine, a wide selection of craft beers, and over 1,000 bottles of some of the world’s finest wine. Though no date has been set, there are hopes of its opening sometime in the next year.

Roundup BBQ: Hollywood Studios welcomed Toy Story Land just a few years ago and now a new Toy Story dining option for families which will hopefully be available in 2021. Guests will be able to enjoy a number of delicious foods inspired by this classic Pixar film.

Accommodations

Polynesian Village Reopening: Aside from the DVC villas, the Polynesian Village Resort has remained mostly closed since March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic began. During this time, the Disney team has infused a new Moana theme to the resort property with some additional upgrades for its guests. The resort has begun to take reservations for late July.

Star Wars’ Galactic Starcruiser Resort: Many guests have their fingers crossed that this immersive Star Wars hotel will open towards the end of 2021. A stay here will include a trip to the planet of Batuu located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, full Star Wars garb, and incredible space-like hotel rooms.

The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, an Autograph Collection Hotel: Set near both Hollywood Studios and the back entrance to Epcot is this exciting new Marriott hotel option for visitors. Rooms will fit anywhere between six to ten guests and the property will feature a restaurant, grab-and-go market, health club, and pool. The first guests are scheduled to be welcomed in July 2021.
