Club Med Québec Charlevoix Becomes The Brand’s First Canadian Ski Resort

Back in January, Club Med announced that it would be open its first Canadian ski resort on December 3, 2021, and even with the many obstacles that could have caused delays, they managed to stay on their estimated timeline. On December 3, Club Med Québec welcomed its first guests to enjoy an all-inclusive ski resort experience as the winter weather sets in.

About The New Club Med Canada Property

Located less than an hour north of Québec, this Club Med property sits in the beautiful region of Charlevoix between the mountains and the St. Lawrence River. Not only does it join an impressive line-up of ski-in, ski-out resorts in Canada, but it also includes Club Med’s distinct all-inclusive services and style.

When guests book stays, they don’t have to worry about planning all the little details for their winter getaways like they might with other resorts. Club Med is the pioneer of all-inclusive ski vacations that come with access to a plethora of winter amenities like lift tickets, equipment rentals, ski classes for people of all skill sets, children’s clubs, ice skating, snowshoe and Nordic walking, ice-fishing, ice-canoeing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, as well as customized après ski activities. They can even plan these activities and services ahead of time with the brand’s Easy Arrival service which can be completed through their customer accounts.

From here, winter sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the region with Canada’s largest annual snowfall, dozens of trails of varying difficulty, 8 lifts, and a sports park. There are also trails specifically used for cross-country skiing, winter hiking, and tobogganing.

For those who want to spend a little less time on the slopes, the resort offers a number of other amenities like an indoor pool, fitness classes, a fitness center, yoga, meditation, a sauna, a spa, a terrace with warm and cold baths, a gourmet market with locally made goods, a lounge bar, a wine cellar, a buffet-style restaurant, and a table-service, family-style restaurant.

At the end of each night, guests can lay their heads down in one of the 302 guest rooms or 25 suites. Like the rest of the property, these accommodations are inspired by the region’s rich history and natural surroundings while Club Med’s signature modern style. When they wake up, they can take in stunning views of either the river or the mountains from their windows.

Though Canada is known as a winter destination, Club Med knows that the greater Quebec area has plenty to offer its guests throughout the year and is the brand’s first year-round mountain resort. Vacationers can also visit during spring, summer, and fall to enjoy hiking, kayaking, whale watching on the St. Lawrence River, fishing, taking scenic train rides throughout the area, and so much more.

Lastly, in order for Club Med members and visitors to be able to visit this beautiful destination for years to come, the resort has committed to sustainability with the aim of achieving both Green Globe and BREEAM certificates, as well as partnering with Solucycle to turn food waste into green energy or compost/fertilizer.

We can’t wait to see the success of this unique winter resort and the brand’s plans of opening another property in Snowbasin, Utah set to open in December of 2024.
