Disney Riviera Resort was announced as the next DVC development at the 2017 D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, making it the 15th location in the network. With an anticipated fall 2019 opening, there has been some significant progress made in recent months to ready the property for future guests and timeshare owners.
Adjacent to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and near Hollywood Studios and Epcot, the high-rise styled property will feature around 300 units with a variety of accommodation options similar to other Disney Vacation Club properties. Some of the other expected features include swimming pools and a rooftop restaurant that will offer stunning views of Epcot and Hollywood Studios fireworks. It will also include a brand new gondola transportation system, called the Disney Skyliner, that will help connect Riviera Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century Resort, and Caribbean Beach Resort to Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.

With its proximity to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, many speculate that they will share some of the same amenities and will allow owners and guests to utilize those attractions. Caribbean Beach Resort has been going through its own renovations which have an anticipated completion of Summer 2019. Improvements to this property include a new waterfront walkway around Sebastian’s Bistro, a new Centertown waterfront district that features dining, shopping, and a pool bar, and other upgrades.
