Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa Orlando Property Updates

The team at Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa has been hard at work throughout 2020 and early 2021. With their goal of enhancing guest experiences, Westgate has invested over $130 million into the Orlando property which includes a new pirate-themed water park, two new restaurants, and updates to over 400 villas that overlook the on-site renovations.

About Treasure Cove Water Park

Treasure Cove is a 161,000-gallon, $12-million dollar pirate-themed water park designed with vacationers of all ages in mind. Its most notable attractions are the two, 30-foot high dual water slides, the Dolphin Drop and the Pirate’s Plunge. Guests will have the chance to use these thoughtfully created slides which feature drops and turns, colorful Aquatubes, and a smooth landing for a thrilling and fun experience.

The park also boasts of a 258-foot wave pool, a 575-foot lazy river, and an AquaPlay unit which has three small slides, an aquatic jungle gym, and a splash pad with several water-releasing features. Next to the attractions, guests can also enjoy the resort’s new 35,000-foot sundeck which includes over 600 lounge chairs, sun sails for shade, four private cabanas for rent, and deck seating with tables.

As if the new water amenities weren’t enough, the property has also opened two new full-service restaurants within Treasure Cove. The Rikki Tikki Tavern is located in the center of the lazy river and offers a Hawaiian-inspired poolside menu with a variety of sandwiches, salads, and incredible cocktails. This is the second Rikki Tikki Tavern by Westgate, with the other being located at their Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier property. The second restaurant at Lakes Resort is the Buccaneer Galley Snack Bar which serves quick bites like American-style specialty burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches.

Villa Renovations and Other Property Updates

Included in the water park construction were renovations to over 400 of the property’s villas overlooking Treasure Cove. These renovations included updating the kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring throughout to provide visitors with the best finishes possible.

There are also a few other notable amenities that were added to the property in 2020 including a brand new basketball court, a new mini-golf course, and new walking and jogging paths.
